Different Types of Swimming Pools
Freeform Pools
A freeform pool is generally built to resemble a natural lagoon pool or small oasis. It has a natural uneven shape with features like waterfalls and rocks to compliment the natural style.
Lap Pool
Lap pools are built for swimming laps for health and fitness. They are long and narrow over fifty feet long usually.
Geometric Pool
A Geometric pool has even features and lines, often built in a rectangular shape, also considered as the "traditional swimming pool" style.
Infinity Pool
These swimming pools are also referred to as Negative Edge or Infinity Edge swimming pools. This type of pool gives an optical illusion that the edge of the pool extends to the horizon and has no edge.
Overflow Pool
Perimeter pool is created by having the pool surface's water level at the same level as the surround of the pool. The water drains into a notched perimeter around the pool. This creates a beautiful visual impression.
Spool Pool
A Spool is a combination of a Spa and a Pool. The spool is a small pool more commonly seen as a large spa. These are often around 12 to 14 feet.
Skimmer Pool
A skimmer pool assists in pool cleaning by skimming water and capturing floating debris -- leaves, flower petals, dirt, twigs, dead insects and oil (sunblock) -- before it can sink to the pool's bottom. Most skimmers on in-ground pools are built into its upper sides, where the suction draws debris and traps it. Most pool skimmers are accessed via the pool deck area through a trap door or hatch.

A Sheer fall is a water feature that flows from a section of raised beam. It is a sheet of water that varies in length and can be installed at many different elevations.
